Another year has come and gone. Summer is here in the Arctic. The pollinators are doing there job—fast and furiously. Our Summer season is very short. Salmon season is here and our neighbors are catching and then putting up the catch. The air smells wonderful with the scent of smoking to preserve the harvest.It is a wonderful time to reflect on the joy of the season.
The Chukchi sea is open and the barges are bring much needed supplies.
Summer has been rainy but we have had more warm weather than last year. Every one here values this short season.
The Tundra cotton is showing up as small fields of mop tops every where.
Our pollinators are out in force taking care of all the flowers. It reminds you that each day changes are happening and need to be savored.
Take the time each day to look around and enjoy this season.
